Who are members of the artist collective?

Together with an author, writing under the name of ‚Melody‘, a Canadian photographer and an anonymous Street Artist, Susan created the ‚Susan Suns Art’ Collective. We use inspiration from travel to create colorful and lively pieces of art. This project is kept alive through numerous anonymous partners, all united by the goal of making money for charity. Everybody is invited to join and donate, contribute art for donation or spread the word by following us on instagram.

100% of the proceeds from Susan Suns Art go towards development projects. Currently, Susan Suns Art supports the German-Ghanian Friendship Association, which realizes several Development Partnership Projects, such as supporting the German-Ghanian School in Kumasi, Ghana. Other up and coming projects include the construction of a Kindergarten School and a Women’s Shelter. We are also looking to support a Well and Water Filtration Project, and a Cocoa Shade Tree Programme in Suhum, Ghana. The other project we support at the moment is a reforestation project called ‚Ashantree‘ in Kumasi, Ghana.

Who The F*** Is Susan?

I was born in Heidelberg and left my parents’ house at the age of sixteen. After living on my own in many different places, I have finally returned home to my birthplace. Among other cities, I stayed for a long time in St.Gallen, Heilbronn, Stuttgart, Paris, London, Lahaina/Hawaii , Sydney and Munich.

I attended the University of London where I studied Politics, History, French and Spanish. Later I studied at the Ludwig-Maximillians-University in Munich the topics American Studies,
Ethnology and Intercultural Communication. Travelling is one of my main passions. Thus far, I have been on six continents and visited over 50 countries.

Recent trips have taken me to Nepal, Bhutan and India- where I was introduced to successful Development Partnership Programs. In November 2019, I participated in a delegation trip in support of a Bavarian-Ghanian Development Partnership. This is where I was first inspired to use art as a way to make contributions to charitable organizations.

Who The F*** Is Melody?

I was born and raised near Munich. Even though I was able to enjoy a lot of holidays with my family in different countries, like Turkey, Egypt, Greece or Italy, I knew quite early that I wanted to see and travel more. My childhood was not easy, and I have always longed to travel the world and experience new adventures. My whole life, writing was my escape from reality and a form of fulfilling these dreams.

I made up new worlds, different places where I could leave everything behind me and start my own path. Whether I wrote mermaid stories or fantasy fiction, a romantic novel or a simple poem, I've always tried to pull from my emotions to add a dimension of vibrance. Writing like this is personal, vulnerable and in some ways very genuine and freeing. I want to share my experiences with people in hope to help others who are suffering from similar problems. I want them to know that it is okay to not be okay, you are not alone and there is always help if you need it.

Over the last few years of slowly finding my way out of the darkness, I went to Bhutan and Hawaii and both journeys influenced me and my writing immensely. I learned about other lifestyles, about joy and the beauty of nature and I hope to channel these feelings within my texts.

Travelling and writing will always be my main passions and I love to unite them in this particular project. I'm honoured and proud to be part of a program that is working on changing the world for the better through the magic of art, little by little, step by step, picture by picture.

Who The F*** Is The Photographer?

I was born and raised in Toronto, my father is an artist and ever since I was little we spend lots of our free time painting and creating. We would take family road trips across Canada in our camper van and during long drives I would always be drawing pictures of what I saw along the way. When I was eight years old I got my first camera to take with me on our two month trip to Newfoundland, this is when my love for photography started. I have always had a passion for travelling, I never had specific destinations in my mind but I know I want to see a bit of everything the world has to offer. This dream has brought me many different places, I have experienced living abroad in Australia, discovering cultures in Thailand and Indonesia, and seeing the way of life in South Africa.

Photography is my way of capturing individual moments from the environment surrounding me, whether it be a fast paced city or a serene forest. I use taking pictures as a way of freezing time and always having something to look back at to add to the memories we have saved in our minds.
