Deutsch-ghanaischer Freundeskreis e.V

The Ghanian German School started in 1994 with small beginnings: after a short start-up phase, six students started their two-year training as tailors in January. The start was only possible because the Michaeligymnasium in Munich had collected the money and the sewing machines could be paid for.

Right from the start, the new training center in Ghana was also aimed at underprivileged young people whose families could not finance their children's education. It is not only the school fees, but also the many additional costs such as school books and notebooks, school uniforms and living expenses that are a burden for poor families.

The Association is also looking to support a Well and Water Filtration Project, and a Cocoa Shade Tree Reforestation Programme in Suhum, Ghana.
